1. How does my mom use math at work? [4 lines] My mom is a stay at home mom. She does most of the grocery shopping for the family. She has to find the best deals to save money. She also likes to bake but some recipes don't make enough so she doubles the recipe. She has to know how to add up the measurments.
2. How I used math this week, not including school/homework? [4 lines] I was baking a new cookie recipe on Saturday night. It only made 2 1/2 dozen. We had company coming over so we needed extra. I multiplied fractions to double the recipe.
3. Explain a situation where bad math could cause a disaster. [4 lines] Say someone was measuring the gas tank on an airplane. They accidently made the wrong measurment for 1 side. It messed up the whole correct answer of the equation. The pilot is flying and is sure he has enough gas until the next landing. But he actually doesn't and the plane runs out of gas mid- flight.
4. Which one do you find more difficult: handling money or measuring? Explain. [4 lines] I find measuring more difficult. I find this because if you are trying to measure you must get a perfectly accurate measurment. Handling $ is easier because it is easier to keep track of. Handling $ is more enjoyable so that make sit easier.
5 how do you prepare for math exams? I look through all my notes I 've marked with stars. These notes are from the whole year. I read them over and make sure I know all the formulas to solve problems. Then I go through my tests to see mistakes I've made.
